Loose Dried Gingko Biloba / Maidenhair Herb 20g

Gingko Biloba (commonly known as Maidenhair) is a medicinal herb made from the dried leaves of the Gingko tree, native to China and one of the oldest living tree species in the World - the only surviving species of an ancient family of trees. 

The herb is typically used in tea form, although Gingko dietary supplements are also available as capsules. It contains contains high levels of flavonoids and terpenoids, which are compounds known for their strong antioxidant effects. It is often used to help boost circulation, coronary health and reduce inflammation.

It is frequently used in Chinese medicine to improve memory and cognitive function, although there have not been scientific studies to test this. It is also used in treating respiratory conditions (presumably becuase of it's anti-inflammatory properties) - please see the bottom of this page for links to studies on this. It has also been successful in treating some premenstrual symptoms (see links to a study below).
